Fire Detection & Alarm System
York & Selby Magistrates Court is one of circa 330 Magistrates Courts located throughout England and Wales. A magistrates' court is a lower court, where almost all criminal proceedings start. Some civil matters are also decided here, notably family proceedings.
Magistrates, who are also known as Justices of the Peace, are unpaid volunteers and come from a wide range of backgrounds and occupations – from bus drivers to architects, pilots to mechanics, nursery nurses to retired people, unemployed to teachers. Magistrates normally sit as one of a bench of three and they deal with a range of criminal cases such as minor theft, criminal damage, public disorder and motoring offences.
Trinity were employed to replace the existing fire alarm system at the York magistrates Court, however we were provided with an additional challenge as we were required to complete the works within the ‘live’ working environment of the Magistrates Court without causing any disruption to the day to day operation.
Under the guidance of Trinity’s Project Manager, ably supported by a number of Trinity’s technical installation and commissioning engineers, the project was successfully completed within just 8 weeks!
