The UK Education sector contains more than 45,000 Schools, Further and Higher Education establishments. In addition, there are also a further 2500 independently managed schools and Universities.
The current Education budget is £85 Billion and highlights the ongoing Government investment required to maintain the Education estate across the UK.
Health and Safety within the Education sector, however, remains a major concern with more than 2.2 million working days per annum lost on average over recent years, as highlighted by the HSE.
Over the last 20 years Trinity Fire & Security Systems has gained a wealth of experience within the Education sector.
Richmond College, which is a is a top performing London college that sends more students to university from a single site than any other college in the UK, is a prime example of the typical works undertaken by Trinity.
Trinity replaced the existing Fire Alarm and Detection system with an Analogue Addressable system with high output sounders and bespoke door hold open devices.
The college’s facilities are set on one large campus, and the college remained fully operational, with up to 3,300 students on site, whilst all work was undertaken. With no out-of-hours working allowed, the logistics of carrying out installations in and around classes and the students was challenging. However, Trinity has wide experience of safely operating in a live environment, and worked on a phase by phase basis to meet the demanding programme.
