The Royal Air Force Museum London
Gas Suppression Systems
Planned Preventative Maintenance & Emergency Response
The Royal Air Force Museum London is one of two similar museums located in the UK, with the second being situated in Shropshire, that tell the story of the Royal Air Force through its people and collections. The Museum shares the experience of the people who shaped the world of aviation, from the daredevil early aviators to wartime heroes and the Service men and women who have served in the RAF. With a world-class collection and display of aircraft, engines, missiles, medals and uniforms, the Museum takes an innovative approach to sharing historical knowledge in a modern environment.
After winning the maintenance of the existing gaseous fire suppression systems, covering the museum’s archives, Trinity Fire and Security Systems Ltd designed, installed, commissioned, and are now maintaining, a new fire suppression system covering the site’s new Server Room, using 3M’s Novec-1230TM environmentally friendly extinguishant agent.
Being one of a limited amounted of companies accredited to the Loss Prevention Certification Board’s LPS-1204 scheme, Trinity were audited on all aspects of the project. The Building Research Establishment, appointed by LPCB, reported that Trinity had passed with flying colours.
