One Glass Wharf forms the centrepiece of a major urban regeneration scheme at Temple Quay in Bristol, which has brought new homes and jobs to a previously derelict area of the city. The Bristol waterfront’s new landmark building achieved a BREEAM rating of Excellent, and was recognised as the Best Commercial Workplace at the British Council for Offices regional awards. The 19,500 m2 building provides a total of six floors of Grade A office accommodation with the added bonus of a secure basement car park.
The requirements for bespoke and high performing security systems were key to the success of this new-build project. The comprehensive cause & effect matrix ensures a safe passage for all users. In the compact underground car park, the access control system identifies the user via a proximity card. When activated, the system prompts the CCTV cameras to follow the visitor into the building, and restricts visitors to nominated areas only. In the event of fire activation, all doors are released by the fire system and monitored by the CCTV.
